I grew up in central Kansas on the same cattle ranch and farm my grandparents built and my father continues to work today. I attended the University of Kansas and graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Latin American Studies. While in college, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Brazil where I found my love for travelling and understanding other cultures. My dental career started in 2008 as an AmeriCorps volunteer with the Douglas County Dental Clinic. After graduating from the UMKC School of Dentistry in 2018, I continued to practice in the dental public health sector at the Douglas County Dental Clinic and Heartland Community Health Center. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, playing kickball, hanging out with my three cats, Roscoe, Emile and Sprig, and playing fetch with my dog, Bug.
